Kevin is an experienced media relations specialist with key skills in positioning, messaging, and media training as well as being an accomplished writer.  

After an early career in local government and transport PR, Kevin joined BT in 1983 to work on the company’s flotation and the liberalisation of the UK telecommunications market. He later played a lead role in the promotion of BT’s mobile communications businesses.

Kevin joined Companycare in 1989 to help establish its technology PR offering. The CC Group is now a £2m-plus business, and is established as one of the UK’s leading independent technology consultancies with an excellent reputation in the mobile communications industry in particular. Last year, the consultancy expanded with the launch of a consumer facing division, escapade, a specialist analyst relations service, and a networking venture called the Telecoms Hothouse

Kevin now acts as a strategic advisor on communications policies, messaging and positioning to a variety of companies many of them operating in the fixed and wireless telecoms industries. He is particularly strong on issues such as convergence, the mobile economy, and Internet services and solutions. He regularly chairs media and industry round table debates and has written for a number of specialist magazines.

A Fellow of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations, Kevin has been a member of the Institute’s Council since 2001 and a member of its Board since 2004. He has been Treasurer of the Institute and chaired its Education Committee.   

Kevin took over as President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in 2009.
