Green Awards Grand Prix

The Energy Saving Trust is proud to sponsor the Green Awards 2008 Grand Prix.

The Energy Saving Trust is the UK's leading organisation set up to help people tackle climate change.  It aims to cut carbon dioxide emissions - the main greenhouse gas causing climate change - by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy. It is the independent organisation providing advice for people to help reduce their energy use and acts as a bridge between government, consumers, trade, businesses, local authorities and the energy market.  It provides impartial information and advice and has a network of advice centres in the UK specifically designed to help consumers take action to save energy.  In 2008/09 the Energy Saving Trust will reach eight million people saving about 15 million tonnes of C02.

The Energy Saving Trust’s Green Barometer – a quarterly tracker on consumer attitudes towards the environment – helps keep the customer insight team up-to-date with what people are thinking about environmental issues.  See the latest reports:

Environmental issues, specifically climate change, has risen right up the agenda over the last few years.  We now realise that we are all part of the problem, but also the solution.  Clearly Government has a huge role to play, but let’s not forget the huge reach of the commercial sector and the role that it should play in sending out clear environmental messages to customers. The challenge is to do this is an informative and responsible way, that’s why I support the Green Awards, because it rewards those organisations who are genuinly trying to convey simple messages in as a creative way as possible, so that people stand up, take notice and take action.
